Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin has warned criminals in Kano that the state is not a safe haven for them.
He noted that the police have been equipped to patrol every corner of the state.
Jibrin gave the warning at the Kano State Police Headquarters during the handover of 1,000 motorcycles to the Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Garba.
He urged criminals to abandon their unlawful activities or face the full force of the law.
“Criminals, you are warned: Stop your nefarious activities and embrace peace. The Nigerian Police Force in Kano is fully prepared to reach every corner of the state. With these motorcycles, they can swiftly respond and track you down wherever you try to hide,” Jibrin stated.
Senator Jibrin stressed that ensuring security is a shared responsibility.
“Security is not the sole responsibility of the government or security agencies; it requires everyone’s contribution. High-net-worth individuals, traditional rulers, religious leaders, students, and even the ordinary man on the street have roles to play. Let us provide the police with the support they need, whether it’s through information, resources, or prayers. Their sacrifices for our safety should never be underestimated,” he added.
Jibrin also commended CP Salman Garba for maintaining and improving security in the state.
