Tinubu Summons Power Minister, NSA Over Blackout In The North, Issues Directive

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to eradicate banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities across Nigeria.

Speaking at the 9th Convocation of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, in Katsina State on Saturday, Tinubu emphasized that the government alone cannot overcome these challenges, urging citizens to actively support security efforts.

Represented by Prof. Abdulkarim Mohammed, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State, Tinubu highlighted the critical role of public cooperation, noting that citizens can aid security operatives by providing vital information that would strengthen the nation’s security framework.

He further urged Nigeria’s youth to take advantage of the Nigerian Loan Scheme, which has so far disbursed over N70 billion to support their ventures and aspirations.

Tinubu underscored that effective governance requires collective action from government leaders and Nigerians, who, he said, are integral to the nation’s progress.

He said, “Governance is not just about the presidency or leaders but about Nigeria and Nigerians who hold the power to make this country better.

“I want to assure all Nigerians that the government is fully committed to combat and defeat all acts of terrorism, kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities in Nigeria.

“However, security is a collective responsibility. I urge all Nigerians to join hands with the government by giving them relevant information to security agents on suspicious persons, miscreants and other criminal elements.”

The president also called on convocating students to be good ambassadors of the institution and the country at large, wherever they fund themselves.

He called on university lecturers to live up to expectations in grooming future leaders of the nation and charged them to take advantage of modern teaching methods using Information Communication Technology.
