Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Ola Aina has described his stunning goal during Nottingham Forest’s impressive 3-0 victory over West Ham United as a way of surprising his fans.
Ola Aina struck a powerful shot from outside the penalty area in the 73rd minute, leaving the opposition goalkeeper with little chance to respond.
This remarkable goal marked Aina’s first Premier League strike of the season for the Tricky Trees.
In addition to Aina’s goal, teammates Chris Wood and Callum Hudson-Odoi also made their mark on the scoreboard, netting the other two goals in what turned out to be an exciting league action.
Reflecting on his moment of brilliance, the Nigeria international shared his thoughts with Optus Sport, stating, “Sometimes it comes out. I like to surprise everyone; it just bounced upright. I was knackered anyway, so I thought I might as well hit it.”
Aina’s consistent presence in the squad is also noteworthy, as he has appeared in all ten of Nottingham Forest’s Premier League fixtures this season, proving to be a reliable and integral part of the team’s campaign.
Note that Ola Aina joined Nottingham Forest on a free transfer on July 22, 2023, after his contract with Torino expired. He has played 32 times for the Premier League side in which he scored a goal and provided an assist.
