Governor Uzodimma Immortalizes Late Iwuanyanwu

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has described the death of the former president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, as a sad loss, but said his legacy lives on.

In honour of his contribution to the Igbo ethnic region and Imo State, Uzodimma announced that the state’s international conference center would be named Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Center upon completion.

In a statement on Saturday morning, the Chairman of Nigeria’s Governors Forum consoled the family of the late business icon and Ndigbo for the loss.

It read, “We celebrated the remarkable life of Chief Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu CFR, Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo as he was laid to rest at his hometown, Atta in Ikeduru LGA of Imo State. Chief Iwuanyanwu was more than a leader; he was a beacon of hope, a Pan-Nigerian icon, and a dedicated voice for Ndi’Igbo.

“Chief Iwuanyanwu’s legacy lives on in his many accomplishments—his support for the youth in sports, his relentless drive for industrial growth, and his tireless advocacy for social justice. His generosity and leadership impacted lives and inspired all who crossed his path.

“To honor his legacy, I am pleased to announce that the Imo International Conference Centre currently under construction will be named the Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Center, and I urge the Federal Government to similarly recognize his lasting contributions.

“My deepest gratitude goes to the Governors and Governments of Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, and Enugu States for their commitment to this celebration of the 11th President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. I also thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government for their support, as well as all leaders, dignitaries, and friends who joined us to honor Chief Iwuanyanwu.

“May God grant his family the strength to bear this loss, and may his legacy continue to inspire generations.”
