The Chairman of the Youth Committee of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, has called on State Governors and private stakeholders to invest more in sports infrastructure across Nigeria.

“Empowerment goes beyond providing resources; it’s about creating avenues for young people to channel their energy and talents positively. In Nigeria today, we have a growing population of youth interested in football and other sports, but the facilities they need are either inadequate or nonexistent in many areas,” Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi remarked.
Majekodunmi stressed that developing sporting facilities, such as stadiums and training centers, could significantly address youth unemployment and restiveness. “If we prioritize this, you’ll be amazed at the level of employment and societal transformation we can achieve.
Sports can engage and inspire the youth, offering them opportunities they never thought possible,” he added.
The youth football advocate also extended a call to private individuals and organizations to partner with the government in this initiative.
“Government alone cannot do it all. We need individuals and corporate entities to contribute to this vision. Together, we can create a vibrant ecosystem for youth sports development,” he said.
As part of his birthday reflections, Majekodunmi expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who sent prayers, messages, and gifts to celebrate him.
He promised to continue his advocacy for youth development through sports and urged others to join him in this mission.
